The Philippine Robotics National Team has once again demonstrated their prowess on the global stage, emerging victorious at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Italy Open Championship 2024. This year’s competition, held amidst the picturesque backdrop of Brescia ,Italy, saw the team overcoming significant challenges to claim their well-deserved victories.
Despite facing numerous obstacles in their journey to Brescia, Italy, the “miracle teams” of the Philippines showcased remarkable resilience and determination. Their story of triumph is a testament to the spirit of Filipino ingenuity and perseverance. The team was honored with a visit from Philippine Consul in Milan , Italy Philippine Consul General in Milan Elmer Cato and Miss Evy Revillia from Bergamo, further boosting their morale.
The Filipino community in Milan, Italy rallied behind the team, with Mrs. Dina and Mr. Joel Diaz and Mr Lito and Dina Darlito generously sponsoring Filipino meals, providing a comforting taste of home during the competition.
Competing against 41 countries, the Philippine Robotics National Team excelled in multiple categories, securing the following awards:
Robomission Junior High School 2nd Place ; JAper Memorial High School, DepEd-Bohol
Robomission Senior High School 4th Place – Columban College Barreto, Olongapo
Future Innovators Junior High School Impact Award :Dr. Yanga Colleges, Inc. (DYCI)Bulacan
Future Innovators Senior High School Creative Award -Legaspi Science High School, DepEd Bicol
Kids Robomission or WeDo Best Presentation – Albay Central School, DepEd Bicol
The team was ably led by Mylene Abiva, WRO Philippines National Organizer and President/CEO of FELTA Multi-Media Inc. Her leadership and dedication have been pivotal in guiding the team to success.
