The Philippines just won two gold medals, a silver and bronze medal over 22 participating countries, represented by 1,012 students, in the World Robot Olympiad on November 5-7 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Greatly impressed by the achievements of the young scientists, the President expressed hope that their works may soon have a real application to help the country especially in the development of projects like weather warning systems to combat climate change.
He also encouraged the youth to pursue courses in the field of science and technology because there’s big job potentials and great demand in the market.
Science and Technology Secretary Mario Montejo, Education Secretary Armin Luistro, Science Education Institute Deputy Director Leticia Catris and Philippine Robotics Olympiad Project Director and Felta President/CEO Mylene Abiva were also present during the call.
